A discussion session focused on individual experiences surrounding war in Iran and Bosnia-and-Herzegovina was held at Tehran Peace Museum.

A group of veterans of Iran-Iraq war accompanied by volunteers from Tehran Peace Museum participated in the session that featured two peace activists from Bosnia Herzegovina and Switzerland.

The Tehran Peace museum would be closed for visits from 23rd to 25th August 2016 to hold Youth Leadership-workshops.

On 71st anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6th, 2016, Mayor Matsui of Hiroshima and the president of Mayors for Peace delivered this year's Peace Declaration at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Ceremony.

More than 70 years are passed and the nuclear attacks on civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki remains one of the most heinous war-crimes to this date. To mark the 71st anniversary of the atomic bombing,a peace memorial ceremony was held at Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park, attended by people, activists and peace-makers from all around the world.

On Saturday 6th August 2016, the TPM was honored to welcome Dr. Jan Oberg director and co-founder of the Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research (TFF), to give a lecture in English titled "The Middle East: How did the West get there? What are the alternatives now?"

Professor Jan Oberg is the director and co-founder of the Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research in Lund, Sweden. The Foundation is an independent think tank, which has been dedicated for more than 28 years to academic research, as well as practical, on the ground experience with the purpose of promoting Article 1 of the UN Charter that peace shall be created by peaceful means.

The 15th issue of the INMP (International Network of Museums for Peace) newsletter has been published and is now available on the respective website. Like any other issue of the newsletter, diverse reports and news pieces can be found on this issue regarding different activities held in different peace museums around the world;

Ms. Susanna Terstal , the new Dutch ambassador, whose country is the interim representative of the European Union in Iran, visited Tehran Museum Peace on July 11th and got a first-hand taste of the ambiance and the activities at the museum.
She partook in a tour of the museum accompanied and guided by the veteran members of the museum and reviewed different dimensions of the impacts of chemical weapons that were used against Iran during the Iran-Iraq war. 

Iranian renowned film director and screenwriter, Abbas Kiarostami whom movies acclaimed worldwide by critics and audiences, passed away on July 4th, 2016 due to sickness. 

This prominent film maker, film editor, photographer and poet visited Tehran Peace Museum in 2014 and got to know the guides of the museum whom are the survivors of chemical weapons and enriched his knowledge about their volunteer activities to raise awareness about the consequences of war and promoting a culture of peace.

To commemorate the National Day against Chemical and Biological Weapons which coincides with the anniversary of chemical attack on the Iranian city of Sardasht, an event was held at Tehran Peace Museum which comprised of a friendly meeting and discussion session with veterans and families of chemical victims. Many participants including the veterans and victims of chemical weapons, Peace Museum's narrators, families of the Iraq-Iran war victims, members and activists affiliated with NGOs, public figures and others joined us in observing the day.
