The Society for Chemical Weapons Victims Support and Tehran Peace Museum to host MOCT

 

 

In line with various collaborations with Japanese non-profitable organization, MOCT for incessant thirteen years, the Society for Chemical Weapons Victims Support (SCWVS) and Tehran Peace Museum (TPM) hosted the representatives of this organization in February 2016. The collaboration which first took place in 2004 is based on mutual recognition, cultural exchange, public awareness about chemical warfare survivors and endeavoring to publicize the negative consequences of war and weapons of mass destruction.

The Japanese board including Dr. Shizuko Tsuya, and her four colleagues, had put many programs on agenda including: Release of the book" With Iranian Chemical Warfare Survivors" in Artists' Forum, meeting the members of faculty of Law and Political Science of Allameh Tabatabai University and analyzing the possible fields of cooperation, getting familiar with the methods of peace education for Iranian children at Hadis Kindergarten, meeting with the members of Hoze Honart (Art Center) and attending the Iran film-night, visiting the chemical warfare survivors at Sasan hospital and meeting and talking to hospital authorities, as well as visiting a chemical warfare survivor who is a TPM volunteer, at his house.


SCWVS, TPM and MOCT Organization have carried out various programs through thirteen years of collaboration, some of which are as follows: Annual attendance of many chemical warfare survivors and Iranian artists in anniversary of Hiroshima Atomic-Bombing and raising public awareness on chemical bombardment of Iran, holding Iran-Japan "Peace and Friendship" film festival , medical collaborations, book publication, educational-experiences and exchange of the teachers, educators and narrators of peace museums and cooperation with Hiroshima as the Iranian secretariat of "Mayors for Peace”.
